Last weekend I went up to Tokyo to participate at the Tokyo Linux User Group (TLUG) meeting and do a session on career building for developers. It was good to be back for in person meetings at TLUG. I hope to go up every few months or so to reconnect with the developers there. The earthquake in 2011 and the seemingly never ending pandemic really wrecked many of the international communities in Tokyo. Hopefully they’ll rebuild themselves over time.

I also met up with my buddy Matthew Dons in Yokohama and got an update from his world as he’s been fighting cancer for years now. I’ll have a video podcast on Matthew later this week, which, of course, I’ll post here.
