Linus Torvalds: OpenSolaris and my Spam
Here’s a fun story of when I met Linus Torvalds back in 2018. I told him about my experiences at Sun and OpenSolaris and also the time I spammed the Linux Kernel Mailing List (LKML).
I still have bitter/sweet feelings about Sun and OpenSolaris. It’s a shame how it all ended for me. I went from working on the hottest project at Sun at the time and being Sun’s #1 blogger (see: BSC front page) to losing those platforms overnight. That wrecked my career and forced me to reset — yet again. I have a lot of experience with train wrecks.
